Laura Premack is a writer, weaver, historian, educator and coach. A native New Englander, she lives in the northwest of England with her family.

A graduate of Wesleyan (BA), Harvard (EdM) and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (MA/PhD), Laura has been awarded Fulbright-Hays, Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Gerda Henkel Stiftung, and US Department of State fellowships for her historical research and writing. She has held faculty appointments in history, religious studies, politics, Latin American studies, and Africana studies as a postdoctoral fellow, tenure-track assistant professor (US), and permanent lecturer (UK). Before entering academia, Laura taught primary and secondary school in Arizona and California. Laura currently works for herself as a writer, coach and facilitator.

Laura is an associate member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council; a mindfulness meditation teacher certified through the University of California; a Royal Horticultural Society-trained gardener; and an Arts Council England-funded handweaver who works with heritage-breed British wool.

Laura divides her time between writing, coaching, teaching meditation, weaving, and looking after her garden and children.
