Coaching

I help people live with purpose and ease. My clients include academics, professionals, creatives, leaders, perfectionists, procrastinators, and especially feminists.

My coaching is intuitive, creative, and incisive. With hundreds of hours of 1-1 and group coaching under my belt; intensive training and substantial experience as an educator; and a compassionate presence honed by three decades of yoga and meditation practice, I show up for each person in whatever way they need.

What people say about working with me.

One-to-One Coaching

Establishing values, setting priorities, managing time, transitioning careers, completing PhDs, adapting to parenthood, preparing for retirement, and writing books are some of the things I help people with.

My approach with everyone is to establish an authentic relationship of equals. We start slowly, allowing us to get to know each other before we make a commitment. If we decide to work together, we agree on a series of regular sessions, with the exact number and frequency depending on needs and budget.

For some, coaching is an intervention which lasts a fixed period of time and addresses specific goals. For others, coaching is an ongoing, iterative process.

When you are choosing a coach, talk to a few and look for someone who really gets you. If you are creative, curious, principled and at least a little subversive, we’ll probably get along well.

I have many clients who are happy to provide references — just ask.

Group Coaching

When I work with groups, I create communities of solidarity that respect the wisdom each person brings. Group coaching provides opportunities to deepen relationships, learn from each other, and build support structures that outlive the coaching programme.

I regularly design bespoke group-coaching programmes for PhD students, academic departments and research centres. The group sessions are often bracketed by workshops or retreats and may be supplemented with individual coaching sessions.

Writing Coaching

I help people develop a healthy and sustainable writing practice. Through one-to-one coaching, group coaching, workshops and retreats, I can give you the tools you need to take the drama out of writing, fit it into your life, get it done, and enjoy the process. Ongoing programmes include Enough! Time to Write, offered termly.

You’ll find some of my resources for writers here.

More recently, I’ve started drawing on my expertise to help non-fiction writers shape book proposals and navigate the publishing industry. I offer support and feedback on structure, message, audience and voice, and I advise on contacting agents and presses. My speciality is working with academics and researchers who want to write for a popular audience.
